Get rid of fat and get toned right now!

Weight loss for people. How to lose fat and get toned muscle and breaking down the myths of the healthy lifestyle.

How can a personal trainer help you to keep your diet?

Many people do not even consider a personal trainer; the reasons differ wildly, from financial reasons to the “I’ve got Arnie’s fitness handbook, I don’t need a personal trainer” reason. For starters, Arnold Schwarzenegger did have a personal trainer, up until he became Governor.

If you are overweight or even obese, chances are your physical shape is not that well either. Very possibly you have neglected to do any exercising, which is also one of the reasons you gained the weight. Now simply picking up the sport you used to do while you were in High School is not recommendable and is very dangerous as well.

It took some time for your muscles to get used to being less employed; it will take some time to get them to be active again, without getting injured. A specific exercise plan, where you will build up your stamina towards your fitness goals can very easily be made by a trained professional, who can not only evaluate your current state, but also tailor you a regime that will not disturb your daily schedule too much and allow you to use just as many calories as are recommended for the diet you chose.

A diet, whereby please note that liquid diets and short term crash diets are not serious diets but Russian roulette, should be a long term solution where you are getting acquainted to the proper nutrition and receiving an introduction to a healthy lifestyle. What good does it do, if you lose weight just to gain it back?

While most dietitians are propagating complete exclusion of anything that is not perfectly safe to be ingested and digested, usually without any room for little indulgences, an exercise regime may allow you to expand your diet options a little.

If it happens that your sister or your best friend is getting married, it is not only rude not to eat off the wedding cake, it is considered bad luck as well. Seriously, complete abstinence of everything you liked and loved until yesterday will make sure that you do not keep the diet, no matter which diet is in question. You can manage to live without any soda; you can live without almost any food, but is it not better to know that after you’ve lost ten pounds, you will be allowed to eat one cheesecake? Only make sure to burn that cake away with exercise the next day!

Are all diets healthy and is exercising a necessity?

There are many options for a hungry individual to feel that need, depending on the taste and preference, a lot of choices are provided and available. It is much easier to pick something that tastes well but is not very nutritious, because seemingly a wider choice of such nourishment is accessible. In order to eat healthy and keep the food interesting and with nice flavors, there is no way around preparing the food either yourself or having it done by a cooking professional.

Diets are restrictive, lowering the options for the consumption of previously prepared food, like fast food or most take outs, as well as forcing you to have a good knowledge of what you are eating. Most diets are basically taking existing nutritional facts and jumbling them a little, with more or extreme restrictions imposed. It is unfortunately not a very imaginative crowd, the dietitians and nutritionists; it needs real imagination of a chef to make your food taste at least close to what you are used to experience when you are dining.

In order to meet the expectations of your spoiled taste buds, you have to consider proper use of spices and herbs, besides really understanding what a diet is all about. Generally, overweight and obese people are given a list of foods they are supposed to eat, sometimes with a diet plan scheduled out which reads like a torturing agenda. You ate burgers and fries today and tomorrow it is boiled chicken meat with dry green salad and if you are lucky some seeds and nuts? Who in their right mind is going to stick to that? This is the simple reason why all diets fail, you are not eating tasty food and although your body is satiated, your mind is not.

It is therefore better that you take your regular food intake and remove all food products that contain toxins and excess fats and carbohydrates, you add some with a lot of fiber and make sure the fried and processed food is down to zero, or as close as possible. Find out what your calorie intake per day is supposed to be and stick to that; in order to lose weight, you exercise, burning more calories than before. A personal trainer can assist you there and they are not as expensive as you may think.

Why fitness is important?

Millions of people diet every day, counting calories, choosing low fat food, eating an apple instead of a snickers bar, picking the diet soda instead of regular, even taking non fat cappuccinos. Abandoning processed and fried food, limiting the intake of fats and sugary products is not enough to warrant weight loss. Most people will literally rather starve themselves, before they would accept the fact that they would need an exercise regime as well, if they are serious with the weight loss. It is not only because they need to burn the excess fat they have accumulated over years, but for the overall health of the body, it is unavoidable to bring the dieting body to a certain fitness level.

Why would fitness be an important part of a dieting regime, is it not enough to simply eat less?

The simplest of all answers is no, it is not enough. Simply losing weight is not the solution for an overweight or obese person. The only viable goal is health, not a lower weight. This mistake is made by most of the people who start with a diet. It is not important to lose as much weight, as it is important to stay healthy and improve the overall fitness of the body. That is why most of the dieting solutions are long term programs and not fourteen day superfast solutions.

Just like teaching the body to accept less food as sufficient takes some time, it takes some time to teach the body that it really wants and needs to stay fit. Humans are a very adaptable species. It is always easier to do nothing than to do something, and if your muscles are very used to doing nothing, your stamina is way low as well. This means that you will not be able to spend a lot of time working out, you will get tired very fast and will need to rest to recuperate. With slowly increasing your workout limitations, you gain stamina and walk your way towards fitness at a pace that should best be determined by a professional trainer.

It is very obvious that an obese person cannot run for fifteen miles and it is logical that a fit person will require more than just simple walking for an hour to remain in the same shape. Realistic goals need to be set for every individual, according to the needs and goals this individual has set forth, and that is why a personal trainer should oversee such fitness regimes. If you are working in an office and sit for eight hours per day, you will not need to accomplish a world class marathon running stamina and speed. It is sufficient that you reach a certain weight and maintain enough staying power that you can run after your kids, or with them for that matter, when horseplay is aloof. That is the main reason why fitness is important.

Were diets handed down from Mount Olympus to a selected few?

If you intend to start a diet any time soon, be prepared for a barrage of intelligence insulting guffaws of self-proclaimed diet Messiahs. Everybody else on this Earth is lobotomized, but the selected few; you are blessed, because you have bought their book, and of course the writers are saints, but humbled to be mere messengers of Gods to enlighten the masses devoted to gluttony. Such messengers are not doing this task for money, although the mansions and extravagant cars could mislead you, no, they do this as a service to Gods and the broad public, which is blinded by the worldly sparkles. As such, common sense means nothing, because this is the magical working of heavenly creatures, writing books better than the Bible, leading you with a golden path towards your skinny self.

If this sounds like a sect to you, then you are not mistaken. Ever since the Adventist movement, which propagated abstinence from certain foods together with the religious message, their most prominent contributor – who by the way left disgruntled, because he was not credited properly – Dr. Kellogg of the cereal fame, many people have tried to simply leave the religion out of it, but keep the whole nutrition movement intact, together with the fanatic structure. “We are right, everybody else is wrong” policy does work very well; politics in general are based on that principle for centuries now.

Similar to the religious movements, where most spiritual leaders are in it for the fame and fortune, the whole nutritional craze is filled with partial and wrong information. For instance, how are you supposed to go from wonderfully smelling and tasting food to bland and awfully tasting dishes for the rest of your life and without kicking the diet to smithereens? If you are not a diabetic, there is no reason why you cannot eat every now and then something sweet, as long as you can keep it in good measure. If you are out with friends, why should they all have a beer and you take tonic water or worse, lemonade, although you crave that foamy liquid more than air? Because it is a sin. It goes against the commandments written by Zeus himself, I am guessing now, and you will be condemned to a lifetime of obesity, or so they say. Why don’t you simply put down the book instead and turn on your brain?

Importance of personal trainers for motivation

The secret of the stars is finally out, the reason why they all have such a perfect body is because they have hired not only a nutritionist or a dietitian, but a personal trainer. These wondersome creatures have the knowledge and the capability to create personalized workouts for every single person, depending on many factors, including weight, height, previous experience, targets and goals, just to name a few. A personal trainer evaluates your current state, questions you about everything you do, evaluates your targets and needs, as well as capabilities and figures out a training plan that fits you perfectly; minor adjustments in future are possible, depending on how truthful you were.

Personal trainers very often work with nutritionists and dietitians together, which is an option, not a must, where the nutrition plan and workout schedules can be combined for better results. This coordination is very important for body sculpting, when people lose weight and are not willing to put up with surgical excess skin removals and similar side effects of weight loss. While you can have a diet plan worked out for you by a nutritionist and more or less stay the course with minor adjustments here and there, where you do not have to keep the diet expert on a retainer, with a personal trainer it is a completely different story.

If you never did sports seriously, not really like a professional, but as an amateur in a club, or running daily routes of ten miles for a prolonged period of time, let’s say a year, every day, or similar, then you will have a really hard time to stick to the workout without constant supervision. Not a single person is born with built in endurance, people differ in how easy or hard they get to certain levels of staying power, but it is always hard work. You gained weight because you did not spend all the calories you have eaten. Chances are that you have a job where you sit through the eight hours of work, but are nevertheless dead tired when you get home, because it is brain work, you barely use your muscles.

If you have worked in such a job for a couple of years, but have not maintained a healthy workout schedule, you have most surely gained weight. Losing the weight will be an arduous task, paired with a training it will go easier, but the exercise regime will be tough to keep. A personal trainer can work with you, constantly encouraging your physical improvement and adding to the load as you improve your abilities, never overly exercising or hurting you, which can easily happen if you pull weights on your own, or start up with yoga or Pilates with an exercise book. The motivation will never fail you, like it happens when you are on your own, the trainer can not only motivate you, but show you exactly in tedious detail how you improve, giving you a sense of immediate accomplishment.

The secrets to a successful diet

Most people that attempt to employ a diet regime fail. The reasons are many, but most of the time these reasons are the results of bad information and even worse preparations. Once you have reached the point where you really need to do a diet, there are several points you have to consider before you start. If you start a diet and give up after a short while, like a week or a few days, you will gain back what you have lost and add a few pounds for sure.

The spirit is willing, but the body is weak

If you were eating over three thousand calories a day and were indulging yourself with all kind of tasty and yummy food, you will not be able to simply switch from one day to the other to bland boiled meat, and raw vegetables. Switching sweets for fruit in addition to it, and removing all soft drinks, beer and alcoholic beverages for simple water will most definitely give you the necessary kick to abandon the diet and start pigging out.

How do you think that you can simply abandon all food you like and suddenly eat food you mostly don’t like or which does not taste as well as your other food? Substituting soft drinks and beer for water at the same time will most definitely be too much for your taste buds, your determination to keep the diet up will crumble the first time you see a soft drink or beer commercial.

How can you avoid plunging into this trap?

Plan carefully, make sure you substitute the bad food for tasty good food, make juices, water scented with a lemon, squeezed orange or lime, let your imagination do the creative work. If you used to eat burgers, you can eat a burger now too, just buy lean chopped beef, make sure that you take the allotted ration for that meal, it’s a smaller burger, but it is one nevertheless. You want some fries with that? No problem, take a few potatoes, depending on the allotted amount for the day, chop them up, the way fries should look like, put them like that in the oven on 250 degrees Celsius. You like to eat sweets? Take a few fruits, like pineapple,  grapefruit, apple, kiwi and strawberries and make a fruit salad. There is a way around everything, you just have to take time to figure it out.
